TL;DR: Use fresh drinking water for the Nespresso Vertuo Next’s routine cleaning program. GOHALL’s general single-serve directions do not establish approval for adding a tablet to that program. Descaling is a separate procedure with its own specified treatment and rinse finish.
What goes in the tank for the cleaning program?
The U.S. Vertuo Next manual specifies fresh drinking water, an ejected capsule and a collecting container holding at least 34 fl oz (1 L). The head must be closed and locked for the automatic cleaning run. Follow the complete sequence in that manual.
Why “single-serve” does not settle tablet compatibility
The current GOHALL coffee maker cleaner directions describe reservoir treatment for compatible drip and single-serve machines. They also require checking the approved cleaner and procedure for espresso machines.
That broad description does not name Vertuo Next or authorize replacing its fresh-water program with a dissolved-tablet cycle. Confirm the exact product and program with Nespresso before using an additive. Our coffee cleaner compatibility and rinsing guide explains how to match a tablet’s directions to a brewer that permits them.
A descaling request needs its separate procedure
The Next manual specifies Nespresso’s descaling kit for descaling. Follow that entire procedure, including thorough tank rinsing, the fresh-water rinse stage and the stated 10-minute drying period before use. Do not substitute GOHALL’s generic tablet cycle or combine the products.
Cleaning and descaling address different maintenance needs. If the machine leaks or malfunctions, stop using it and contact Nespresso. Turn it off, unplug it and let it cool before handling removable parts. Leave the housing assembled.
Question about an unapproved tablet
I already added a tablet. How many rinses make it ready for coffee?
Do not guess a rinse count or brew a drink to check. Ask Nespresso for recovery instructions for your exact model, naming the product and amount used. The routine water-cleaning instructions do not establish a recovery procedure for an unapproved mixture.
