TL;DR: For Philips EP3347/90, register an empty bin with the machine on; wait at least five seconds before refitting. GOHALL tablets do not reset the counter.
Why a washed bin can still trigger the message
Philips’ U.S. support page explains that off-state emptying or quick replacement can leave the grounds count unchanged.
An empty-grounds request is a different decision from a coffee maker’s Clean-light program. Read the actual alert; our coffee maker Clean-light guide covers the latter.
Register the empty container
Check your model first. This example uses the current U.S. EP3347/90 instructions; other machines may use different controls.
- With the machine on and idle, remove and empty the grounds container.
- Leave it out for at least five seconds.
- Refit the container and drip tray correctly. Check the message before making another drink.
If the documented steps do not clear it, contact Philips with the model number and exact alert. Do not bypass an interlock or open the housing to reach a sensor.
Keep washing separate from counting
The North American manual calls for weekly container cleaning. Its front panel is not dishwasher-safe.
For washing, finish shutdown, unplug with dry hands and let hot parts cool. Keep the machine, cord and plug out of washing water; let washed parts dry completely before refitting. These precautions apply to cleaning, separately from the powered registration above.
The espresso drip-tray guide helps distinguish routine collected water from unexplained filling. Removing those parts is also a useful moment to notice damage or poor seating.
GOHALL Coffee Maker Cleaner Tablets have a dissolved-tablet reservoir procedure for compatible machines. Check the approved cleaner and procedure first. The listing does not authorize treating the grounds bin or resetting its count. Keep that water-path task separate; the tablet compatibility and rinsing guide explains its limits.
When removing the drip tray
Should I empty grounds even if the bin is not full?
For this Philips model, empty it whenever you remove the tray, even with a few pucks, to restart counting.
