TL;DR: A blocked pre-ground funnel needs its model’s permitted clearing method. For Philips EP3347/90, shut down and unplug before using the supplied spoon handle. GOHALL reservoir directions do not authorize treatment inside this passage.
Find the dry-coffee passage
The pre-ground compartment receives coffee powder, separate from the reservoir and bean hopper.
Philips lists a blocked compartment among several possible reasons for coffee not dispensing. Poor flow alone does not establish a blockage: trapped air, a dirty brew group or a descaling need may require different care.
The approved Philips clearing route
This walkthrough uses the current North American 2300/3300-series manual linked from the U.S. EP3347/90 page. Follow your own document if its access differs.
- Switch off and wait until shutdown is complete and sounds stop. Unplug with dry hands and allow hot parts to cool.
- Remove the water tank, open the service door, press PUSH and pull the brew-group grip.
- Open the pre-ground lid. Move the supplied spoon handle up and down until clogged grounds fall. Remove fallen grounds from the accessible area.
Keep the housing assembled. The approved spoon action does not authorize another probe, opening the grinder or pouring water into the bean hopper to clear the passage. Stop before forcing a stuck part; contact Philips if the permitted steps do not solve the problem.
Before refitting, align the yellow-cylinder arrow with the black arrow and N. Slide the group along its rails until it clicks, without pressing PUSH. Close the service door and replace the tank. Our removable brew-group guide covers its separate rinse and refitting checks.
Keep reservoir cleaner out of the funnel
GOHALL Coffee Maker Cleaner Tablets describe a dissolved-tablet reservoir procedure for compatible brewers. Check the machine’s approved cleaner and method first. Those directions do not permit a tablet or cleaning solution in the pre-ground passage or bean hopper, and do not clear a mechanical obstruction. The compatibility and rinse guide explains the water-path boundary.
Planning the next check
How often should this Philips compartment be checked?
The manual calls for a weekly blockage check. A clear funnel does not complete brew-group care or descaling; those remain separate tasks.
