TL;DR: A pet fountain that pauses may be following its sensor or timed mode. Check the exact model and power source before treating stopped flow as a dirty pump. A wireless pump does not necessarily mean battery power. Check whether the selected flow mode can complete the cleaner's whole circulation procedure.
Wireless pump and cordless power describe different features
Look for the model code on the fountain or in its manual. Similar names within one range can describe different power and flow systems.
For example, PETLIBRO's Dockstream Smart Fountain PLWF105 guidance says that only the pump is wireless. The fountain has no internal battery and needs external power. Its app offers continuous or intermittent water flow, but this model has no motion-sensing function.
If comparing models, verify their power and flow features alongside the physical parts and washing access.
When a battery fountain pauses as designed
PETLIBRO's Dockstream Cordless PLWF115 instructions distinguish plugged-in continuous flow from battery-powered sensor flow. In battery mode, the stated detection range is 19.7 inches. An approaching pet triggers a 42-second flow; without a pet approaching for an extended period, the fountain runs for about 42 seconds every hour.
Those numbers belong to PLWF115. Do not use them to diagnose a different fountain, including a newer Dockstream 2 model. Compare the observed pauses with your own manual's mode description and the selected setting.
If flow never returns when expected, note the power source, selected mode, indicators and response within the documented sensor range. Do not disable the sensor or modify the water path.
If expected flow still does not return
The PLWF115 product guidance identifies insufficient water as an automatic shutoff condition. It directs users to keep water between MIN and MAX, clean the permitted pump and fountain parts, and contact support if the checks do not restore operation. Do not keep testing a dry pump.
The maker's PLWF115 troubleshooting page also distinguishes the base, power button and indicator from the pump. Use its instructions for the original cord and adapter. A working indicator does not prove that every water passage is clear.
Before handling parts, switch off by the manufacturer's procedure and disconnect external power. A rechargeable unit can still have battery power after its cable is unplugged. Keep electrical bases and adapters out of washing water, and leave sealed battery compartments closed. Stop for damaged electrical parts or a leak near them and ask the manufacturer for help.
The fountain, pump and filter guide covers owner access and separate filter care. Returning noise or residue has its own checks; neither establishes that a timed pause is a fault.
Check the flow mode before a cleaner cycle
GOHALL Pet Water Fountain Cleaner Tablets require compatible equipment and manufacturer permission for the cleaner and procedure. The current label directs a 15–20 minute circulation treatment. Do not assume that a series of short sensor bursts completes that treatment; confirm the permitted full procedure before use.
Being able to run the required treatment is only one compatibility check. The manufacturer's water-temperature and chemical restrictions still apply; plugging in a PLWF115 does not establish GOHALL compatibility. Do not repeatedly trigger a sensor or modify the controller to improvise the cleaning cycle.
If the product and fountain instructions agree, use the label's dose for the actual cleaning-water volume. Remove filters, keep pets away throughout treatment, then complete the fresh-water rinses until no residue remains before replacing filters and refilling with drinking water. If the process cannot be completed as directed, use the fountain's approved care method instead.
Questions about fountain flow modes
Does “wireless” mean I can unplug the whole fountain?
Check the exact model. PLWF105 needs external power even though its pump is wireless. A rechargeable model may work without a cable, using a different flow mode.
Can I leave cleaner in during normal sensor operation?
No. GOHALL cleaner is not added to drinking water or left accessible to pets. Its treatment, draining and complete rinsing must finish before fresh drinking water goes in.
Will removing the filter make it flow continuously?
Filter removal does not change a sensor or timer setting. Follow the model's filter instructions; do not use filter bypass as a substitute for the correct operating mode.
