TL;DR: A supply strainer and the food filter inside the tub need different care. Match your Miele model before opening the connection.
Locate the filter before choosing a cleaning task
The U.S. G 7791/G 7796 manual lists an inlet filter, supply pressure and drainage installation among intake-fault checks.
Its wash-chamber food filter is separate. For retained tub water, use the standing-water checks.
Miele USA illustrates a plastic strainer and seal. Use this procedure only when your model guidance and water-intake connection match that arrangement.
An inaccessible plug or work requiring dishwasher relocation needs qualified help. Keep the cabinet closed.
Rinse the strainer; keep the valve housing dry
- Switch off, unplug the dishwasher and close the water faucet before unscrewing the intake-valve connection.
- Remove the seal. Grip the plastic filter bar with combination or needle-nose pliers and withdraw the filter. Rinse it under running water. The housing contains an electrical valve: never immerse it.
- Seat the filter and seal correctly, then secure the connection. The filter must go back in. Open the faucet slowly and check for drips; Miele directs tightening a leaking connection.
For persistent leaks or an incorrectly seated seal, close the faucet and get support before use. Never cut or shorten the inlet hose.
Chamber cleaning comes after the supply problem
GOHALL dishwasher cleaner tablets address food residue, detergent buildup and mineral deposits inside a compatible empty machine. They do not replace removing debris from this supply strainer or repairing a valve, hose or plumbing fault.
After normal filling and leak-free operation are restored, consider a separate cleaning cycle only if your dishwasher permits that cleaner. GOHALL directs one unwrapped tablet in the dispenser, used alone without dishes, detergent or another cleaner, on Normal or the permitted machine-care cycle. The empty-cycle guide explains that task. These directions do not establish Miele approval of GOHALL.
Water-inlet question
What if the warning returns?
Miele directs persistent faults or a damaged hose to its service team, and low-pressure problems to a facility manager or plumber.
